AFTERCARE FOR EAR PIERCING

Proper hygiene is important after ear piercing. Our therapists will give you these instructions when the piercing is performed.

IMPORTANT!
Redness, swelling, pain, and/ or rash may indicate an infection:

• If the piercing is in the soft part of the ear, the earlobe, remove the earring and clean it. If it is not starting to improve when you wake up the next day, contact a doctor.
• If the piercing is in the cartilage of the ear, remove the earring, clean it, and contact a doctor immediately.

ADDITIONAL TIPS

• Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before touching your piercing.
• Do not twist or turn the earring.
• Avoid sleeping on the pierced ear.
• Keep your hair clean and away from the piercing.
• Avoid swimming in pools or hot tubs for at least 2 weeks after the piercing.
• Do not use harsh soaps, lotions, or perfumes on the pierced area.
• If you have any questions or concerns, contact your doctor or piercer.
